Important school announcements and reminders
ANNOUNCEMENTS
♪ During March, many hands and bodies will be needed to prepare the stage, scenery, props, sets, and costumes for the spring musical which opens March 28. When the notices are sent for volunteers needed, please make every effort to donate some time and energy. We appreciate all you can and will do!!!
♪ Magnet Commitment forms are due NOW! Please submit to the front office. Students in grades 8-11 must declare their intent to remain at DSA or plans for 2013-2014. This will help us plan for placement of new students and school programming next year. Replacement forms are available if needed.
♪ Parents, teachers and lay citizens are invited to examine and participate in the evaluation of textbooks and instructional materials under consideration for adoption by the DeKalb County School District. Math materials for grades K-12 are under evaluation. These textbooks and materials will be on display at Avondale Middle School, 3131 Old Rockbridge Road, Avondale Estates, Georgia 30002, beginning on Tuesday,February 26, 2013, and continuing through Saturday, March 2, 2013. The week day hours are 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The weekend hours are Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 9:30am until 12:30pm.

Nomination Committee Opportunity
The Executive Board is seeking 3 current members willing to serve on this year’s Nominating Committee. This committee will nominate a slate of officers for next year’s PTSA leadership effective July 2013 (see officer responsibilities). The nominating committee is one of the most important committees in our PTSA. Interested parents should contact Monina Klevens at mklevens@comcast.net by March 1st.
