Call to Order 7:02 pm

Review of Minutes: January 12, 2012 Approval of Previous Minutes: motion pass
Treasurers Report
• Review of the Treasurers report.
• Enrichment fees are still welcomed and spirit wear sales
• Survey/online form – has been posted; see DSA weekly and there will be a link to the PTSA website. Goal is to do things online and purchase items.
• Nominating committee: Bruce Schecter, Mona Stephens, Sherry Stahler, Maureen Shelton; need to have 5 which the 5th person will be Ms. McCauley. Alternates: Javell Long, Sheila Mason
• DSA Weekly – announcements to submit, please be sure they are completed. Faculty, note the DSA Weekly is here for them as well. Please get the information to Michelle Spruell as well.
• Volunteer Opportunity – Just Another Dance Dance; Sheryl Miller Holmes is working to coordinate parent volunteers. Also asking for food donations.
Upcoming Dates:
• Next PTA meeting is March 1
• Scenery Saturday – Feb 4-5
• Feb 10-12 GA Thespian Conference
• Feb 11-12 BHT Tour Show Performances – open to other schools in the county; goal is to provide a service to Dekalb County Board Education.
• Feb 17 Media Dept Media Night
• Feb 28 Winter Choral Concert
• Spring Musical – last 2 weekends of March (22-25 & 30-31)
Report of the Executive Board
• None
Principal’s Report – Ms. Fuller
• Progress Reports – Feb 9th
• Some students have packets with awards if they didn’t get them
• Feb 16th Conference night from 4-6pm
• Feb 11 & Feb 21: Continue informational meetings for students who desire to attend DSA next year.
• Feb 17-20 School closed
• Perfect Attendance awards were given out – 8th Grade had the most honors, 49 of students. 9th grade had 42, 10th grade had 46, 11th grade 40 made it, and 12th grade 36 made it.
• Roofing update – started tearing it off. Look for updates in last week’s email
• Attendance – a note must be sent with your child when they are absent in order for the teachersto honor it. Not going beyond 10 days to make corrections.
• No testing this month. 8th grade writing completed in January. Social Studies the juniors will take the graduation test in SS in March – still in negotiations with the state. Please prepare your students for the test in March. All other subjects are fine
• Next month’s discussion – common core subjects rolling in next year. Parent noted to check e-SIS for absences. Activities scheduled during school hours are considered for school activities and will not need an excuse for the kids to makeup missing assignments.
